She is a strong advocate for mental health and wellness, offering her time and service to the community. She understands that too many people are living on the edge, unaware of how close they are to crisis . . . much closer to breaking than they realize . . . silently struggling.

Even if/when they do recognize it . . . fear, shame, stigma and embarrassment keep them from reaching out for the help they deserve.

It’s okay NOT to be okay.

Her goal is to help de-stigmatize mental health, and assure others…that they are NOT

ALONE!

Arnita is unapologetically authentic and true to herself. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Arnita is family-oriented and spirit-led, cherishing her roles as a mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Known affectionately as “Mimi” to her grandchildren, she finds joy in music, painting, cooking, reading, and writing. She also loves organizing, cleaning, baking, hosting and entertaining guest and family in her home. In addition, she absolutely loves traveling, coloring, word search puzzles, making scrapbooks and taking photos of special moments (Nicknamed: Olan Mills (The Photography Studio) and most of all spending quality time with family and friends.

She loves watching the Tom & Jerry cartoon. Family Feud is her favorite game show.

In 2018, she released her first book, Look Through the Window, a memoir, which chronicles her lived experiences with mental health and revealing candid moments in her life that led to her initial mental health crisis.

The story is real and authentic and she describes how she struggled to accept the diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder, and later realized that she truly had a health condition that needed her attention, prayer, therapy, and medication.

She tells people her personal belief…"It’s okay to have Jesus and a therapist too!"
